How we protect and use information

We appreciate the trust you have in Oceanside Bank and place the highest priority on your privacy. Any personal information you share with us will be held in the strictest confidence.
Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information
We collect, retain, and use individual customer information ONLY when we believe it would be useful, and allowable by law, to expedite the delivery of products, services and other opportunities for you our valued customer. We receive information from the following sources:
- Information provided by you on applications and other forms.
- Information about your transactions with others or us.
- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies.
Maintenance of Accurate Information
To maintain the highest level of fiduciary responsibility, we have established procedures to ensure that financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable business standards. We also respond to requests for any corrections of any inaccurate information in a timely manner.
Limiting Employee Access to Information
Oceanside Bank employees will access customer financial information only to those with a business reason for knowing such information. Oceanside Bank employees have been trained and know the importance of customer confidentiality. When appropriate, disciplinary action is taken to ensure employee privacy responsibility.
Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non-public personal information.
Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information
We do not share personally identifiable information about our customers or former customers to unaffiliated third parties for their independent use, except as required by law, such as for the exchange of information with reputable reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of the information or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence. There are however certain exceptions:
- The information is provided to help complete your initiated transaction.
- You request the disclosure of information.
- The disclosure is required by/or allowed by law. (e.g. subpoena: the investigation of fraudulent activity).
When Sending Electronic Mail, Survey, or Contact Information
If you are sending electronic mail, a survey response or contact information to Oceanside Bank, we want to remind you that email is not necessarily secure against interception. In the event where Oceanside Bank email addresses are provided, they are for information inquiries of a non-sensitive and non-confidential nature. If your information is very sensitive, or includes personal or confidential information---such as your bank account of social security number---you may want to send it by postal mail to one of the addresses listed on our contact page.
For transmission of secure information, call customer service to sign up for Online Banking. Access to online banking requires the login of a customer number and PIN number. (See your customer service representative to enroll.)
